Why a personal site still publishes its own posts in 2026 — and what you'll find here.
There are a dozen platforms today that would publish my writing better than this page does: better distribution, better editing tools, a ready-made audience. Yet this page lives here, on my site, under my own domain. Here's why.
Don't rent your audience
A post published on Substack belongs to Substack — not literally, but to Google's index, yes. Inbound links flow to their domain, not mine. The day the platform changes its rules, shuts down, or paywalls my content, I have no recourse. This blog lives on yassirkazar.com because it's one of the rare digital assets I still own outright.
An honest cadence
One post per month. No more. The goal isn't to produce content — it's to write what I wouldn't have the room to say in a 280-character post or a LinkedIn update.
